Default Y pipe

Will I see any signifigant gains using a Flowmaster Y pipe and gutted cats (with a straight pipe thru them) on factory manifolds, or should I wait till I can save up for LT's? I'm power hungry. And impatient.

You wont see anything significant but it should give you better top end though. With lts' and no cats you should see atleast a 20hp gain at the wheels.

I am running a flowmaster y and I got some u bends and welded up a y pipe from the stock manifolds to the flowmaster, then into my 3". I did this before the lt's I noticed more of a difference from getting rid of the cats and crappy stock ypipe than I did from the lt's.

If I had to guess I would say at least a 25 rwhp gain it was unbelievable just from redoing the ypipe.

Dont gut the cats just chop the ******* off and weld up a y into the flowmaster collector. You will gain alot more than you think

Switching from dual Flowmaster 40 series, to a catless- Pacesetter- magnaflow setup, I noticed a very significant SOTP gain down low as well as up top!

Thanks for the info, so ditch the cats, and use the Flowmaster Y and I'll notice some good gains huh? Sounds good what size Y 2.5 to 3??
