I'm pleased with the XM and Bose setup in my SS. I've never tried Sirius, but XM is great compared to AM/FM. If my truck had not come with XM, I wouldn't have bought it. When I got the truck, I said that I probably wouldn't pay the XM fee. But after the free 3 months they gave me, I signed up.

To this day, 6 months after owning my truck, I haven't played a single CD in it. Too bad the factory CD player doesn't read MP3s, I'd be rocking then.

For those that would like to try Sirius in a GM product, but don't want FM modulated sound, try Kenwood Sirius Factory intergration

You can switch to Sirius, and add another 6-10 disc changer to the factory radio in your GM vehicle. It should display tag ID's the same as XM does.

"Our Kenwood interface will allow you to install a Kenwood 6 or 10-disc CD changer, a Kenwood Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner, or both and control them directly from the factory radio."

KNGM1
For Kenwood 6 or 10-disc CD changers,
and Sirius Satellite Radio Tuners
Part# KNGM1

Has anyone heard anything about the portable Sirius units from Kenwood? How do they sound, any issues or concerns? That would be great to have for office and home use.

I have one in my Avalanche and it repeatedly gets an antenna error and has to be rebooted (unplugged). I also have the Kenwood seperate tuner in another car and it works great. The seperate unit has a lot more of a buffer in it, you can drive under very long tunnels and never loses the signal, the portable unit will lose the signal sometimes by just driving under an overpass. There is no difference in sound quality. Even with the problems it still blows away FM
