LOL The HMMMMMMMMZZZZZZZMMMMMM sound?.........At low idle it doesn't really resonate much at all....The exhaust exits right outside of the passenger side below the ext. cab....

ofcourse, any car I sit in that is without a loud resonating exhaust in the cab, is "odd" to me.......

Hell my 5.3 with just a 2 chamber flow with the stock pipes gives off some resonance. Makes the plastic cover under the rear window vibrate like a biatch. I had to shove a sock up under it to quench the noise. I think for simplicity I will go with some turn downs right before the axle. I want it loud!

Vortech5300:

I just noticed your list...

quote:

1)FIPK, on the way
2)HPP3 and 160 stat, got pricing
3)Corvette servo and TransGo kit
4)2/4 drop with Chasis Tech spindles, shackles etc
5)Some sort of shorter tires for 16s, maybe 275/55R16
6)2.5" Duals with 2-2chamber flows
7)underdrive pullies
8)Headers
9) 3.73 or 3.90 w/posi upgrade
10) BE BROKE AS HELL! And hoping for high 13s.

In order to get the high 13 mark with those mods you are going to need to add a few more lines:

11) ET streets or equivilant
12) Converter with 2800+ stall

Your 1-10 list is good for mid/low 14's

Unless maybe its weak or somthing. What does the DJM kit use? How much $$? I am on a TIGHT budget. I could go with Chasis tech and lower 2/4 for under $400 and not have to get an alignment.

Well actually I would totally recommend against going with spindles at all on the 99+ GM trucks. They kill your turning radius. Spindles were the way to go on the earlier models, but not on the newer ones. Everybody that has them hates them and has or wants to get rid of them. I you want it to ride like stock go with the DJM kit. You can get it at www.stylinconcepts.com for $395. But then you will also need shocks, which I would totally recommend Doestch Tech, which you can get for $35 each shipped from www.macsspring.com. Then you should ALWAYS get an alighnment after changing anything on you suspension setup, or even after changing just your tires. So say that is $60, that makes it about $600 total. I know this might sound like a lot, but when you are talking about your suspension on a truck that you just spent over $20K for why try to cut corners and give up the best quality just to save a few bucks? Heck, I have over $800 into my suspension alone, and I love it and would do it all over again. It's the price you pay to play.

hey vortech5300,
you can order the 1 chamber flows from a place called RPM..its on shaver right past spencer.
stay on shaver like you are going toward southmore. it'll be on the right hand side.
you'll see an old school police car sitting out front. i think i paid $80 a piece for them.
i could be wrong; i dont quite remember how much i did pay, but i know it wasnt too bad.
ask for ty, (he's a short blonde-headed dude) he's the coolest one in there, the rest of the guys i dont care much for.

02Z71, summit has em for $50. I have a hook up at Tx performance dist, I can get them for atleast $50.

OXIDIZER, I knew my mods wouldn't get 13s, probably like 14.50s, Can't do the convertor, I pull a trailer every weekend, just a motorcycle trailer but still pull a lot

y2k2siera, GOOD TO KNOW about the spindles and turning. I guess I could go with the DJM kit, with shocks and an alignment. Gonna be a while though, gonna do the bolt on mods first, also gonna have to buy tires at the same time as the drop for it to look right, thats another $5 bills

My problem is what little money I have mostly goes into the bike, its hard to break old habits. I should have the FIPK, HPP3 and free mods by the 7-14 meet at HRP. Prolly go some 15.10s or so. Went 15.5s with just a muffler, stock everything else and 3/4 tank of gas.
