Took the truck to the track tonite. but my times went the wrong way, and I don't know why. My previous best was
60' 2.329
1/8 10.052
1/4 15.570 @88.55
At 100k miles I changed the original plugs to NGK tr55ix
found 2 bad wires, so I went with MSD 8.5mm
Added custom tune
Cam
and Exhaust.
New times
60'2.531
1/8 10.298
1/415.753@90.58
I also seafoamed the motor at the same time as the cam swap.
I ran 265/70 16 bald a$$ firestones for the 15.57, I borrowed a set of 245/75 16's from a friend thinking the shorter tire would help my times. I'm not sure if I fouled the plugs when I seafoamed, or if I'm loosing that much traction. I couldnt hear thes tires spinning, or feel them spinning. My motor doesn't idle as well, but I figured it was the cam. the plugs were dark when I did the cam, but I don't know how to read plugs, so I didn't know what to do. I figured they're iridium, so I put them back in. I need help bad, I was looking to be in the high 14's. thanks for the help

Who did the tuning after the cam swap?
You said your plugs were real dark? Did you swap them out then tune it or are they still in there? Fouled plugs will defiantely hurt performance and so will a bad tune or no tune after a cam swap. There was also a guy who did a cam but was shifting at the stock shift points which doesn't allow you to use all the extra power you gained form the swap.
For instance on my Z71 I only made like 15rwhp more at 4400rpm but at 5500rpm I was making like 50+ and by 6200rpm I was over 100+rwhp over stock. You gotta set your shift points according to your HP/TQ curve.

No, like a dumba$$ I put the plugs back in. I had the truck tuned for the cam. On the road, the truck pulls much harder, and at the track, it felt good. I was hoping maybe traction issues, and plug issues?

Did you dyno the truck? Where are your shift points?
Change those plugs too :p
I'm not to worried about your ET. I'm looking at your MPH. It looks like you gained 2mph with the cam swap. You'd gain more with a good set of headers and gutted cats and the tuning that goes with those mods.
To give you an idea. I had similar mods but with AS&M headers, no cats, Yank3000 stall, and a raceweight of 4900lbs and I ran 14.29@96.8mph. My best MPH was 97.1mph.
With the ZO6 cam I was only trapping like 92-93mph with all the same mods but I didn't have the same kind of tune which is what I htink gave me the power. Without the tune I was only trapping 94-95mph on the 226 cam.

Yea, I got a set of gutted cats by the front dor. Plan to weld a pipe thru them. I want some Pacesetter LTs, but they dont fit 4x4's
Guess I'll have to save and get some AS&M's or stainless works. Also need a tb converter, and shift kit.

Keep forgetting to answer your question. I'm shifting at about 5800 rpm. I tried using 3 and letting it do itself (wish I could do myself) but did better manually shifting between 5800 and 6000. I guess it will need to be re-tuned after gutting the cats? I think I had it tuned for that already. Its a mail order tune, I know I told them to delete the rear O2's, I'll have to ask him if he tuned for gutted cats or not.
It hasn't been on the dyno yet. I want to do it Sat, (theres a dyno day down here) but think I'll be out of town. With out a tuner what will that help? Or just give me an idea where I should be?
