WTF Happened to this 6.0? Can I still use it or is it too far gone?

Here are a few pictures of this motor that I was going to buy. They want $800 for it and I just don't know if it's worth that much! What could be the worst case and best case scenario here? I'm just not too familiar with the 6.0's and don't know exactly what I'm looking at as far as the damage goes. If you can tell me what you see that's screwed up and what I'd need to fix it that'd be great! The guy says that the manifold is busted, and that one of the valve covers is popped up (looks to be rusted spring inside), and that there is a bracket sheared (for what, I don't know, maybe you can tell me). Hopefully some of you experts can tell me what you see in these pictures and how much it'll cost to fix it. By the way, the motor is a 2002, and has 60,000 miles on it. Is it worth $800?

offer him $50 and a 12pk of his favorite beer... that about all its worth IMO.... definitely not $800 anyday of the week. I would be willing to bet that the bottom end is still fine....

I saw that spider too! That should tell you right there that engine is cursed.
I'm willing to bet that it was one NASTY rollover accident, or they hit something that knocked the alternator off and it took out everything in its path. I wouldn't get too affraid of it, but I would definatley pull the pan, intake (duh) and heads before anything. If he can back up the mileage, then I say $650-750.
