ya ive heard this is a great mod, might think about doing it myself. but i always thought a stall was worthless unless u have traction? cuz our trucks break the traction once u go passed like 1500rpms, so wouldnt it just spin forever off the line with the stall?

Holding off a WS6 till 80mph is pretty impressive. Do you drive around on Fairmont a lot? We need to meet up. I want to see how bad your 4.8 can beat my 5.3. (I need motivation to start with the mods again)

traction is not a problem for me on the streets. have no idea out at the track. Mike at Century Automotive stalled it up to about 2700 and got it to spin the tires about 5 feet but that was it. its exactly what i want. not a lot of tire spin and a good jump off the line. rpms stay way up there after shifts.

So I take it your tranny is up and running?
Yeah traction is decent on the street but once you hit the track w/street tires, its all over. My next and probably last mod for a long time will be a set of drag radials.
congrats on the good stall......sounds like you hammered on it right out of the shop like I did

What you guys are saying sounds opposite to me! I can't hook on the street, but at the track I always hook. The hot rubber laid down by the faster cars makes it a much stickier launch pad then blacktop on the street. Have you ever walked on the starting line, it feels like you could step out of your shoes, like your walking in hot bubblegum! I don't know, but for me the track is much better for launching anything.
