Alright i have a 96 silverado with a 5.7 vortec 4l60e. The miles on the truck are getting up there and the truck is just not running like it once did. I have always wanted to do a LS1-LT4 swap in it but didnt know if its worth all the trouble and work. ( Im sure it would be in the long run lol) So i did some looking around at my options and i came across a motor that seem to be a good deal. http://paceperformance.com/i-6255415...-r-engine.html
Let me know what you think about this set up and if it would cost me about the same to swap with a ls1 or lt1??
I want my truck for street strip some pulling

I think the 383 with full bolt ons and a tune would be a great motor...It could be me but I remember my cammed 355ci TBI motor in my 91 rcsb having more off the line torque than my current setup
Also I went with a LS1 to stay era correct..lol..For some reason I wanted to put a gen3 in place of my gen3 SBC...An LT4 would be cool, but with the hassle it seems a LS1 would be the better choice...My vote is for the ht383 and keep it simple and enjoy..
Its easy to tell someone "Do 408 with a turbo" when you dont have to do the work
