What are some good spark plug wires? i saw JBA's but i don't know whats best 8mm or 9mm? Any gain or anything? Can some1 explain the difference between the stockones and the low resistance ones and 8mm 8.5mm to 9mm? thanx i appreciate.

I use the OEM wires just because of reliability, last set lasted my 200K miles. If I were to upgrade I would get the MSD wires, had really good experience with there wires on my other vehicles, and they are red. As for the size, 8mm will do just fine for most application, the larger diameters has more silicon, the inner cores are the same size for 8mm, 8.5mm, 9mm, and 11mm.
As for gains, who ever told you this is full of
. I had a professor tell me, spark plug wires do not increase voltage, however coils do. If you want a hotter spark you need a higher voltage coil, but you might need wires that can handle the extra voltage. Oh wait the only performance coils you can buy for LSx engines are made by MSD for about $80 per coil, MSD is suspose to make an ignition controller for there coils but don't when it will come out.
Most wires are low resistance in the first place, just use this rule of thumb, "Electricity travels through the least resistance path." The lower the resistance the easier the electricity can flow.
When you go out a purchase some new wires you will being purchasing them solely on looks or color, and also get the longer ones.

I posted up almost a year ago after installing my taylor plug wires that i noticed a gain/improvement in my truck. I was **** on by everyone and their mother saying i was dumb for thinking it, but i still stand strong " my truck ran better " they were 45 dollars, and well worth it. Truck runs smoother and felt better drivability wise, and such. so, you can't go wrong in buying them. The taylors are available in a few different colors, so it gives you a dressup option as well. They do work better than stockers. But they're not as tough either i don't think. so you may need to replace them more often. I have 20k on mine, and they look and run as if brand new. so we'll see. I installed mine with 4k on the odometer, so it's not like my stockers were bad. I'm told changing the plugs out from platinums/iridiums to regular resistor type reduces knock, therefore makes your truck run better too. ( i haven't done it yet ) so... granted there's no increase in spark energy, but.. accuracy and efficiency is increased. So it must be better.
I'd buy the taylors again in a heartbeat.

About 3 months ago in an issue of Chevy Prefomance, they are building up a ext-cab chevy 5.3, i think they call it project red dog. i have been reading the mag every since they started the build up and they started off with replacing the plugs and wires , they dynoed it after that just to see if they had gained anything (HP) and it put out if i rember right like 10 more HP . so yes replacing with any kind of prefomance wires , MSD, Taylor, ect... will help...

My MSDs were actually like 38 ohms when I first tested them, my stock ones were well over 100 ohms. The stock wires are probably made to carry all of the voltage that the coils will produce but lower resistance wires couldn't hurt anything. I feel like the MSDs make the truck idle and run a little better but as far as 1/4 times or anything like that they won't make much difference.

1 hp is better than none! I want some! Ok here is the question of the hour...which is more beneficial(horsepower wise) TB bypass mod or plug wires?

I swapped out my stockers for MSD 8.5's and they didn't make any difference good or bad, runs the same (which I expected). I like the MSD's though, they've held up to me removing and re-installing them numerous times and they do look cool IMO. I've also experimented with Denso Iridium plugs and NGK TR55's and never felt any difference from the factory platinums. FWIW, when I originally removed the OEM plugs I checked the gaps and they inconsistently ranged from .045 to .060, and it was running fine.
