Default Will a Torque Converter help this?

Well i think my truck is fast. It pulls the best on top end and mid range, but my low end seems a little doggy.

So if i put a yank 3000 or 3200 stall would this help out my first gear and pull harder? I mean what is the main reason i should get a torque converter? thanks!
