Will a TC mess with HPP3 tuning?
#1
I was just wondering if a torque converter would mess up HPP3 programming. There is an option for aftermarket gears and i'm planning on going with 3.73's and a yank 3000. Should i worry about the programming messin up?

I don't know, but I have a situation in which I'm wondering the same thing.
Before the stall, I set my HPP3 for a rev limit of 6200RPMs, and the 1-2 shift I set at 6000RPMs. While it did read 6000RPMs on the 1-2 shift, after I got my stall in I also got EFI Live and began logging.
What I realized was that the RPMs were actually higher than what my tach showed, and the reason I would hit the rev limiter sometimes when I would do a WOT burnout and then 1-2 shift.
My tach would read 6000, but on EFI Live it read 6200...I think it even went up to 6300 or more.
Since I didn't get EFI Live until after my stall was put in, I have no idea if it was because of the stall or whatever.
So I set the 1-2 shift to +3 and it is ok, while it shows 5800-5900ish 1-2 shifts, it's probably around 6000ish now. I will log tomorrow and see what it is, then probably take it down another notch and log again...
