If you dont mind me asking what Comp pushrods did you order from Summit? It would take some serious **** to bend some of their pushrods!

.......how about the stock pushrod size issue?

Stockers are what...... 7.3-something-something? I'm running 7.4's. I think the VHP cam is happiest with 7.4's, but you may want to check with Roger and Joe on that.

I remember finding a slightly different base circle size on my VHP cam, and did some research - I think it was to put the PR's a little deeper into the lifters to help quiet valvetrain noise.

Stockers are 7.36", not significantly smaller than upgraded 7.4" rods. Although the extra .04" makes up for the slightly smaller base circle a cam with higher lift presents, he'll be okay with that cam. The only thing he might experience is slightly more sewing machine noise, but again, I doubt it with 4 thousandths of an inch difference.

i agree with the stock pushrods. they should be just fine. the valve springs are way more concern than the pushrods.

I hear ya, NAV...

FWIW, my VHP cam's base circle wasn't the same as the TR220 that came out of the motor. I don't remember the specs at all, but say the TR220 was 2.000 - say the stocker was 2.060.. the VHP was smaller than the stocker, but slightly bigger than the TR... somwhere like a 2.020 (definitely not exact specs, so don't bother with the math. ).

I thought the stockers were 7.4" and the aftermarket lengths were for those shaving the heads down.
Anyway, I agree on the stockers too. Only folks who have bent them were ones with an M6 who missed a shift and overrev'd before the limiter kicked in. Should be fine for the lower lift of that cam and in a low revving truck.
