I'm trying to use a NX MAF nitrous kit on my 01 Tahoe.I'm allready using electric fans so I have room to relocate the MAF housing, but the housing requires the use of electronics sandwiched between their MAF ends.If the ls1 MAF is not a direct swap what modifacations would be needed to make the conversion.thanks, whitt1

i don't have your answers but i do have a little info. the MAF in our trucks have a built in IAT(intake air temp) sensor, the camaros do not. they have a seperate sensor so i don't think that would work, seems like the vette MAF is built in like ours but i am not sure. something to look into i guess.
maybe you could convert to the shark nozzle or whatever that nozzle is called.

It is possible but not an easy switch but in my opinion, undesirable.
The wiring is basic...as Parish8 has said the trucks have the integrated plug due to the IAT being located in the MAF. The wiring, however, is the same. Simply use the brown and black as the IAT wires and the rest are the MAF...coloration is identical which makes splicing easy. You will need a IAT from a F-body to insert into the intake tube or use the "resistor mod." I think that this is the easiest part as the next thing you will need to do is reduce the intake tube to fit the small MAF. The F-body MAF is a big restriction by comparison to the truck 00'+ (the 99 uses the F-body unit if I recall.)
The truck MAFs have unit construction unlike the f-body counterpart which has removable ends.
I honestly beleive that you would be better off converting to a single or dual fogger if you are planning a wet shot vs going through the troble of integrating the F-body MAF and MAF nitrous adaptor.
BTW- count on doing some tuning to compensate for the different flow rate of the smaller MAF - LS1 edit? MAF translator?
Good luck,
Richard

I remeber some time ago a post regarding the 99 MAF being the 3.5" type with aluminum removable ends...I have not been able to confirm this as I have only worked on 00'+ trucks....If yours is the integrated type with IAT and MAF in one plastic housed unit then you have the "new" 85 mm delphi one.

I'm gonna echo what someone already told you earlier. In my opinion, I'd leave the factory maf alone and just modify the nitrous kit to spray in between it and the throttle body. Then maybe tune on it with a maf translator if it needed it. I think that route would be a lot less headache.

Ok here is the breakdown. 99 NBS has the same maf as 99-02 trucks with the 4.8, 5.3 6.0. Part numbers are the same for all 4 years. The OBS with the 5.7 engine have the same maf as the LS1 engines in the camaro and firebird. Hope this helps. Pulled all the info off of gm parts lists. By the way my 99 5.3 truck has the maf with the integrated IAT.
