im fixin to have to have the exhaust adjusted a little to get ready for the new motor and was wandering if anyone thinks i would benifit from going with duel cutouts behind each collector, or is the single after the y i currently have enough.
also a side round about noobish question. does anyone have any guesstimations on how much power i will gain going from a stock 5.3 with full bolt ons to a 224/224 .581/.581 112 5.7 LS1 with the same bolt ons.

not 100% on the LS1 swap gain but I do know that with a decent stall and 3.73 or lower gears the cutouts behind the collectors will work well... if you were running more of a stock setup, the single one behind the Y would suffice but I can tell a huge difference in my exhaust going from open cutouts to closed exhaust... I have a single 3" after the Y as well with a straight through resonator dumped (no muffler) I have a couple pics of my exhaust setup from when it was being built if you want to see any...

that where I have mine stew, right after the long tubes. As far as power from that cam around 30 hp is what the f-body guys have been getting, go to ls1tech and look in the internal engine section.

I will be dyno'ing my truck on the 7th... hit me up after that if you want to know some baseline differences btwn the cutouts in that setup and running through exhaust... I plan on doing a couple n/a runs through the exhaust (normal everyday street setup)... one with full exhaust and nitrous, then one with cutouts open only n/a and then another one with open cutouts and spray (race setup) and just see what the differences are... I am kind of excited about finally putting this thing on the rollers even though I am still rocking the stock cam... for now...
