Default will a 6.0 swap get me there?

don't mean to be a pain to you all just getting ready to spend alittle money and don't want to buy the wrong things my truck is a ext cab 4x4 and i know that i am asking alot to get this heavy:turd2 in the12s just wondering if a 6.0 with h/c would do the trick or will it take supercharger or turbo? sold my car that i had to play with to build my truck

That's a loaded question...

Are you talking 12.99?? What gears,wheels/tires you running?

I don't have timeslips to prove it but I'm certain my heads/cam LQ9 in my 95' would propel it DEEP in the 12's. BUT it's an OBS RCSB Z71

yeah kyle 12.99 would be good but the faster the better haha. the ss monte carlo i sold back in the fall run around 12.50 i would like to get my pickup atleast somewhere around that my mods on it right now are 4-56 gears electric fans undrive pulleys volant cai on a 5.3 1/4 mile times as of now are 16.40

With out a doubt. You can get into the 12's with a FBO 5.3

that makes sense on the fbo had a blonde moment there. i know you guys know more than me on these pickups but i sure did not think that the little 5.3 has what it takes to get me there just with bolt ons

thanks alot guys for all the info wow that is surprising to hear that bolt ons will get me from 16.40s down in the 12s but i guess i will let the wife order me some arh lts&catless ypipe for christmas

Well before it goes to far, what truck is this, I should have mentioned this would be a def in a rcsb set up. Ex cab will be a little tuffer, but a stout 6.0 should do it, with the rite converter and gears
