wide band???

hey guys,,, i finially just have to ask. What is a wideband and how does it help me, how much is it, and where can i get it? i do have ls1 edit and a off brand version of a-tap.

A wideband is an O2 (oxygen) sensor. The stock truck O2 sensors only work accutately in a certain air / fuel ratio. A wideband O2 accurately reads air / fuel in a much wider band of mix. This makes it an invaluable tuning tool. http://www.widebando2.com/FAQ_1.htm
If you buy one, you'll use your LS1 edit for tuning. It won't be much help on a near stock truck, but the more mods, the better you can get your truck running with one. It really helps tuning a major internal engine change as well as forced induction and nitrous.

Check these guys out http://wbo2.com/ they just released a new kit that uses a $28 O2 sensor instead of the $200+ one most kits use. I think you can get the whole 2.0 kit from these guys for about $400.

You will need the whole kit. Wideband O2's produce voltage between 0-5 while our stock O2's are only 0-1 volts.
It looks like you can hook up the wideband kit to your factory wiring harness in order to have the wideband AFR and provide the ECM with the proper signal 0-1 volts.
