Default Who's using a T56 behind their 00-99 6.0L truck? Im thinking i can use the LT1 T56

I bought a 99 6.0L for $150. I'm pulling it apart and rebuilding it, stock bottom end, and i wanted to re-use the crank that is .400" longer. I am thinking that this will allow me to bolt to the LT1 style T56 provided i can get an Lt1 clutch on to an LS1 or just have my LT1 flywheel re-drilled to match up to the LS1 crank. The reason i want to keep it is i am uting this 6.0L in my 1994 Z28. The engine will be a mild build, maybe 450rwhp, and my 94 already has a built M29 T56 behind the LT1 in it. I am thinking that i shoud be able to bolt the 6.0L directly to this transmission. What do you all think?

I believe the bell-housing bolt pattern is the same between LTx and LSx, so it should physically bolt up provided you get the flywheel issue sorted. The main difference is the clutch actuation method: LTx T56's are pull whereas LSx type T56's are push... I think.

Yeah but im talking about using an LT1 clutch assembly, LT1 hydraulics and such so the clutch should function as intended and the offest should be the same as an lt1.

As long as you use the necessary hardware, I can't think of why it shouldn't work other than the longer crank thing. I don't know anything about how that might come into play.

They use different input shafts. The only way an LT1 T56 will work behind an LS motor is w/ an LS input shaft swap
