doesnt TX have collector plates or something like that? I had the same issue come up two years ago, i just applied of collector plates sent in pictures, receipts and a letter explaining why i wanted collector plates and it was approved with no issue. Collector plates in Ohio, there is a book with "automatic vehicles" that will get them; a 04 silverado wasnt on the list! anyway with the collector plates i never have emission checks ever!

I failed emissions and safety.

Safety inspection failure was due to a cracked front sway bar.

So what does that mean, was it a sniffer?

Well you could get that two piece front cover, its pretty easy to slide cams in and out on LS1's....

No it was OBDII, o2 sensor heater and catalytic converter came up "unsupported" on their machine (as well as secondary air, egr system, and evap. system - those don't matter). I did the readiness test with my EFI live and it was good, had no "not ready" counts, which is also what they got. But I guess I need to figure out why it's showing o2 sensor heater and catalytic converter unsupported.

"2004
Stabilizer Bar Only
Chevy Truck Silverado 1500"

I can get that locally for $75 from a junkyard. How hard is it to pull out the broken sway bar and install the new one?

It's cake, I have mine off right now to get the front end to lift more during launch. You'll have to pull the skid shield then 6 bolts. I don't understand how you failed the OBD II test though? Is your tune SD or MAF?

Can't you just turn the readiness tests on and off with your tuning software? Make sure that they're turned on and that your truck meets the parameters and all of the readiness monitors run. You're allowed 1 monitor to be not ready, and the rest have to run and pass. I drove around with my scan tool hooked up before I went to inspection and made sure that all of my monitors ran and passed before I got on line. Certain monitors, such as the EVAP monitor, require a cold start, and....(this is lifted from a Cadillac forum in a quick google search)...

• The ignition voltage between 11-18 volts.
• The barometric pressure (BARO) is more than 75 kPa.
• The start-up engine coolant temperature (ECT) is between 4-30°C (39-86°F).
• The start-up intake air temperature (IAT) is between 4-30°C (39-86°F).
• The difference between the IAT and the ECT is less than or equal to 6°C (10.8°F)
• The ambient air temperature is between 4-30°C (39-86°F).
• Fuel level is between 15-85 percent
• Without RPO LMG--The fuel alcohol content is less than 15 percent.
• With RPO LMG--The fuel alcohol content is less than 87 percent.

With these parameters it's amazing that this monitor ever runs...but it does, I just popped a P0446 EVAP Vent Solenoid Malfunction code the other day.

I passed with gutted cats, but they were there when they stuck the mirror under the truck...drove about an eighth of a mile out of the inspection station and the check engine light came on! Got lucky for once in my life...

in case you didn't know, check engine light is an instant fail...
