Smile Who is running a CAT BACK on big hp???

Just curious, I am getting ready to buy new Headers and want to know if I run the Y into a diesel muffler, if it would be to restrictive for my set up(500+hp). Or would a true dual set up work better???? Did a search but it was alot of bs in there.. WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS

Thanks John

Even on my mostly stock LQ9, a cutout before my magnaflow makes a significant difference on the top end. and the magnaflow is supposed to be one of he most unrestrictive mufflers out there.

I always wondered what a "6.0 wit a lil bit" is

I dunno if I want to do the cut out, just wanting to see how bad a C back will choke me... My plans is to run it into a 4 inch pipe then a Straight through muff..

Word. I regret getting the magnaflow muffler. If I could do it all over again I would have kept my stock muffler and had the cutout in front of it.

Friend of mine car made 450RWHP and he is running X-Pipe with 2 Bullet Mufflers 3 Inch from collector out the back of the car. Disconnecting the exhaust at the headers made an additional 2 RWHP. Not worth the hassle IMO.

That is interesting, only a gain of 2hp.. Ima give the cat back a try with a good free flowing muffler... Anybody else have a take on this??

I think if you use a good Y merging into 4" it would work great. I wouldnt go any less than a 3.5" single on your setup IMO.

Dual 2.5" would support 500 hp, you might want to go bigger if you are looking for 600+. Look at Trever1t, he's making ~600 with dual 2.5" and his truck is not too loud for the street. Is noise of any concern?

Thanks guys, I want to run a single 4 off the Y, I am running LT's no cats to a 40 blowmaster, so it is plenty loud, but with the gutted cats that come with the new headers, combined with a big single bullet, it shouldn't be to bad.. So a single 4 inch would be suff. I don't have any idea on my power, but would have to assume it is up the scale of 500...

Thanks John
