Head and cam are next for me, unless I build a whole engine. I don't want to build an engine right now but I think I am going to have to pull the engine to remove the heads because of the body drop. The firewall looks like it would interfere so if I pull the engine I'm not going back stock.

The body drop went fine, Ekstensive Metalworks in Houston,Tx. did it for me. There are some drawbacks but I wanted my rockers on the ground and the body drop is what it took. I could have done what is called a 'stock floor' body drop where my stock frame would have been replaced from the firewall to the rollpan but that would have taken much longer and costs ALOT more. Anyway to give you an idea, the top of my intake is almost touching the top of the crest of the firewall because the body is now 2-1/2 inches lower than before.

Got any details about this 408? I would like to do an MTI 422 but the last time I called there the guy said 'We won't touch a truck'.

I talked to someone named Chris Witt on the phone at MTI and they had no problems doing work on trucks. Check again. To buy a 408 or 422 from them, be prepared to drop $12.5K plus a core motor. You get a warranty if you have them install it.
