ok. i think i know what you are refferring to now.

allen did not work for lyndon. let's get that straight first.

lyndon and allen did talk before about allen possibly tuning for lyndon down in the states as lyndon has people now. but as far as i know this deal never came thru. the nelson lyndon tune thing came into play and that thing never got off the ground. lyndon did not train him either. this is what i beleieve that you are reffering to.

Where the hell is Allen at to stand up and solve this himself? That is the best way to get the facts and put an end to this pissing match.

either way i don't think allen would be upset about it. from the way i understood it him and lyndon are/were (something like that) friends and they would share information between each other. my assumption was simply that when nelson was still fairly new at tuning he might have called and asked a question or two about something or had lyndon look over a file. until you've ran into just about every powertrain combo out there it's very difficult as a mail order tune company (most of his business) to have a solution for everything you get a request to tune. after any tuner gets enough experience under their belt he may discuss idea's or issue's over the phone with a buddy in the same field or something, but that would be about it. i personally used tunercat this weekend and tuned 3 vehicles which turned into 19 seperate flashes to get them where i was happy with them. i personally have not had enough experience in tuning with that software and on them vehicles yet. they turned out well, but it wasn't on the first try.

now that the software is available for these trucks its better to just buy it and do it yourself. the other best way if you're not familier with tuning that well, is to buy the software and flash it yourself. find out if your pick of tuners uses the same software you can buy and have him write you a file. the tuner can then e-mail you the file and you can install it. if you need any updates from there out there is no need to pull the pcm for anything. simply call him and explain your issue's. the tuner will then write you another file for you to install, e-mail it to you, and in no time you're back on the road with your new tune. this also leaves you to do the simple stuff like changing tires sizes, shift points, etc from home without having to send for another pcm just for these little things.

Ok, J-Rod was only asking about his options for tuning a friends truck. He wasn't asking where the people were trained or how they learned their profession. From here on out keep this thread on topic please.
