I had a grinding noise as well when I turned the pulley by hand and it turned out I needed a replacement s/c. Hope that is not what you need. Of course the replacement s/c made grinding noises as well and I was told it's normal; deal with it. The second replacement they sent me isn't as noisy as the first so I know something wasn't right with it.

I think if you disconnect the whole computer setup (meaning unsplice from the PCM harness) then you might be able to get away with it. If you only had a connector unplugged to the computer box but it was still hard wired in then it was probably picking up signals that some things were disconnected. Does that make sense?

Default I have the same set up 2002 5.3 with side mount whipple.

I had this motor put in when mine blew last year. the guys who did it screwed me and 5 months later I got it back. it's suppose to be bored out 30 over. molly pistons with 12.5/1 compression. he put stock cam back in despite repeated times of me telling him not to . and did a half *** job to say the least. now im no mechanic but Im inclined. I just don't know much about sc. I have check engine light on code reader says it's egr low voltage as far as i can tell there isn't one. it wants to run but it bogs out with more than 1/3 throttle. if anyone has tips or suggestions potential problems and solutions to help me out would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

This thread is 15 years old, what are you trying to say? You have a 12.5-1 engine with a stock cam and a supercharger?

Why are you running a street motor at 12.5-1??? Let alone with a blower. That’s a horrible idea and will ultimately end up with a blown motor.

a cam with some healthy overlap should at least lower your dynamic compression ratio enough to manage the tune.
