Default Whipple boost at idle?

Ok guys I have taken my truck to a transmission specialist and he is telling me that I have 2psi of boost at idle going into the transmission. I am running the old style whipple with the 2 belt setup. I am just curious what could cause it to be giving this much boost at idle? If I am looking at my boost gauge in the truck it shows vaccum. I have the boost gauge hooked into the vaccum line that comes off the intake and not on the brake booster. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can get 2psi of boost into the transmission at idle? BTW, this transmission is a vaccum modulated built transmission.

if your gauge is showing vacume then you do not have boost going into the tranny at idle. i have a vacume modulated tranny too and chuck told me it was very important to not put boost into that line going to the transmission. i think it has the ability to raise line presures over what is safe. he sent me a check valve that prevent boost from going to the tranny.

I think he put the same check valve on mine too. I am not sure though. Is it a little golden device that goes from the boost line into the transmission?

yes, you need to make sure that valve is put in the right direction.

Even if it is in the right direction, should I really be getting 2psi of boost at idle anywhere?

if you gauge shows vacume then you are not seeing boost.

you said the gauge is tied into the intake. anyplace on the intake is a good place to get a reading. there are some vacume lines under the whipple that you dont want to tie onto.

Lets see will- you have money to take your truck to a transmission specialist, but you still won't pay me for the motor I sold you a FULL YEAR AGO?

I suggest no one give this thief any more help. Also, no one needs to buy or sell anything to William Nelson from Dallas. He's a liar and a thief. Check his many ebay accounts if you want more proof. Scamming people out of satellite equipment. He's also in a lawsuit for scamming a fellow Tech member from Arizona out of a motor last year. POS!
