Angry Wheres that sound from!

hey there guys... theres this wierd noise when i boot the throttle.. like a tick tick tick sound.. i could hear the sound the first few days after the vararam and tune.. after a few days of going full throttle the sound disapeared what could be the sound from does it affect my engine in anyway? should i check the tune or something.. im really worried because my car is still brand new with 3000km on the odo..

Sounds like you're getting preignition (engine ping). What octane gas are you running and who tuned it?

98 octane.. a good tuner my country.. united arab emirates

Tell him the problems you're having, and I wouldn't put that motor under anymore stress until you fix the problem.

Sounds like you need your tune adjusted to me.

do u think my engine is affected already? :S what does this pre ignition result in?

im with you, sounds like preignition, make sure you fill up at the same station and same octane fuel that you ran when you had it tuned, if that dosent help you may need a retune.

it should be fine, my truck pings alot during the summer, i just stay out of the throttle when ever i hear the slightest bit of ping, then add alittle race fuel to my tank and it goes away. Preignition can kill a perfectly good motor real quick, so stay out of the throttle if you hear it. It can burn holes in the top of pistons, look it up i am sure there is tuns of info on preigniton on the board. Hope this helps.
