Default where to put the cutouts?

Ok, I've got the Thorley headers, 2.5" x-pipe, 2-3" electric cutouts, and 2-3" magnaflow mufflers. The plan was to run 2.5" tubing on the header side of the x-pipe, then switch over to 3" on the muffler side and install the cutouts right out of the xpipe then the mufflers. Will this setup be alright, or will my xpipe really kill the open header sound I'm looking for with the electric cutouts? I already have everything, so I really hope this setup will work. I think the muffler guy would look at me like an idiot if I tell him I want 3" from the header with the cutout into a 2.5" xpipe, then 3" back out to the muffler. Anyone care to elaborate?

I would put them in front of the X-pipe. If not, then wouldn't you be defeting the whole purpose of a cutout?

Put them after the X pipe. Otherwise you'd be loosing the scavaging benefits from the X. The X will assist each side in flowing more exhaust. Put the dumps after the X. Not sure if you'll gain lots of power with them, but you'll really increase the sound. They will keep the exhaust from having to go through mufflers and all the bends.

I put mine right after the headers. That way there even backpressure, if there is any backpressure. Plus its loud as hell. hahaha.

Also, apparently not all tracks let you run with cutouts open. My first run at Epping in NH they told me it was too loud, and i needed mufflers to run anymore. All the tracks i've ever been to, this was the first to say some BS like that.
