Hey guys, i just got a race ready performance cutout from my cousin. Im just trying to find the best place to put it. If i had 2 i would just put them after the headers. My exhaust goes from the headers to a y-pipe, then it goes a couple of feet to my si/do muffler. After the muffler it goes out the rear at
45s. Where would be a good place to put it? The end of the y-pipe, in front of the muffler, somewhere in between? If you have pics of setup using a single cutout, could you post em up. Thanks.

 

i would put it just after the Y-pipe

 

Hopefully doing a cam swap this weekend, would i still get the defined cam sound with one cutout?

 

If you have headers and a dual set-up should they go before the converters or after?? (O2 BUNGS ARE IN THE HEADERS)

 

casey, you will still get a good sound with the cutout open but it would sound better if you had 2 cutouts before the y-pipe merge

terravast4, if your back o2 sensors are on the cutouts should go after them or you will get a check engine light when the cutouts are open.

 

I only have the front 02's in the headers the rears are deleted. if that is the case it would only seem logical to put the cutouts before the cats for the best flow. Am I right??

 

i would put them before the cats if you have room for them. i dont have emissions so i put my cutouts in place of the cats

You will defiantly still get great sound. Here is a quick vid of SBChvy's silverado with a 110lsa cam with a single cutout just after the y-pipe.
