I know a few jumped your **** for the one post of driving to tampa,I always figured they had the wrong impression.I had the idea that you are not a real aggresive driver based on how easy you were on the truck breaking it in.I bet if your truck gathers any oil it wont be much and even less with about 12K miles on it. that seems to be when these engines get freed up.I can see this catch can idea on a built motor set up to race with loose clearences.

That is what I believe to be the case. Call your dealership parts counter with the last 8 numbers of your VIN and ask for a PCV valve to make sure if you like.

No PCV at all?

Or just not PCV valve?

therock - I just installed my AMW catch-can this weekend... I used the line I higlighted in my little post there off of the drivers valvecover. I was VERY surprised at the amount of vacuum pulled through there when the engine running... What happens if you start your motor and pull that line?

FWIW, I drove about 250 miles this weekend, and there is not a DROP in the can.

no valve. GM started using the fixed oriface valve in 03, and in 05 they just incorporated it as part of the valve cover.

Thanks for the info qwank... that's good to know...

I took a look at the pictures on the very first page of the post here - my valve cover PCV-locatoin is similar, but different. There was no clamp on that hose, just your usual crimped 'barb' on the 1" metal male fitting coming off of the PCV-location.
