Hey everyone I am new to your site and I just want to say that it rocks. I have a 02 RCSB Z71 with 5.3. I t has a few mods already Powerdyne Supercharger, 42 lb injectors, 255 LBH fuel pump, headers, flowmaster exhuast. I am making around 350 at the rear wheels which is OK hahah. I am thinking about build a 408 to put in it but I dont know where to start. Where do yall get all your parts from? What kind of block are you using? etc. Any kind of info that yall can give me would be most appreciated. Thanks

If you wanna build a 408ci get an iron 6.0L block you could get an LS2 6.0L too but in my opinion the iron 6.0L block it's perfect for forced induction and nitrous. since you are gonna build a strocker motor the least expensive 4" cranks are Eagle($1000.00) and Scat or you can work your way up to a callies or a Lunnati. BTW TBYRNE and LM Performance are my favorite vendors. oh yeah i almost forgot to tell you that 4l60's are not the strongest transmissions in the world so you are going to have to build a 4L65 or buy a 4L80 or else your tranny it's gonna take a dump on you

 

My truck already has the 4L80E transmission in it and 3.73 limited slip rearend. How much trouble is it to do all the wiring and computer hookups and everything once you change it over?

 

From what i heard wiring is not a big issue when you're swaping blocks. there are guys that are still running their 6.0's in a 4.8 program but since you already have a FI you should get a custom computer tune. you should PM desTRUCKtive he did a 6.0 on his truck about a month ago.
