Default Whats wrong with this catback system ??

Has anybody tried the summit catback ?? Sure don`t seem to bad for the money you get a chioce of 2 1/2 or 3.0 pipe and dauls to the back bumper. I know it comes with a summit brand turbo muffler but for 169.95 for a complete catback ??? The pipe is mandrel bent and Aluminized Any thoughts or has anybody tried it ?? Even if i don`t like the sound a good hooker or flowmaster muffler is 60-70 and i still would only have about $240 invested ??

Looks like a very nice price for someone wanting dual tailpipes. Singe house brand Summit Turbo muffler with a single inlet and dual outlets, and mandrel bent tailpipes, all of it aluminized too. Not bad for $169.95.

Pretty cool that it even has a choice of 2.25" tailpipes, or you can choose the 3" tailpipes for the same price. The Summit house brand Turbo muffler probably sounds pretty good.

One issue to notice is that the 3" tailpipes do require that the spare tire has to be relocated.

Hope that helps,

PS. Keep us posted on how it fits and how it sounds if you do get it and put it on your ride...sound clip would be nice too!

nothing wrong with it at all, it just wouldn't work for my purposes. Also don't expect to get more than 7-10hp out of it.

My brother had this setup on his '91 chevy. It sounded pretty good-but the muffler rusted out in a year-so we just put a y-pipe and a bullet in its place. Cheap system if your looking for true dauls-just have a spare muffler picked out. The spare tire did have to be moved but it wasnt an issue since he was runnin 35's. Hope this helps.
