Here's one of my older setups...if you want quiet, I mean.

Sounds virtually identical to my truck now that the present Dynomax has been on for a while.

Borla Pro XS. Best muffler hands down. Nice mellow idle, no drone and when you hit WOT, everybody knows it.

36" Muffler and its been like this for a year and a half. i LOVE this exhaust setup over every exhaust setups ive had on my last 4 trucks.

same exhaust as far as headers/y pipe just a 14" magnaflow muffler....talk about LOUD as hell and when i swapped to a looser converter it got a MILLION times louder at cruising speeds.

this is just my .02, its plenty loud enough when i want it to be but cruising/around town it has a tame tone that makes me smile everytime i romp on it

Magnaflow oval mufflers... the 24inch case.

My last truck was a H/C 5.3. Had LT's and 3in ORY. Ran it through a single in/out 3in offset magnaflow muffler 22in case 5x11 and it was awesome. Super quiet but you could still hear the cam. Probably because it was a big bastard.

New truck is stock mostly and i had a magnaflow 14in bullet. Worst muffler ever, I ended up buying another 22in case magnaflow this time it was a 5x8 though 3in straight through muffler. Still quiet but noticeable when you give it gas. I'll never buy another muffler except for the big magnaflow's.

Here's a clip i saw on another forum recently...

Sorry I don't have anything from outside the cab. I may have a dyno video that I can post to youtube which would give a better idea of the sound.

If IIRC, you have a single 3" system. You could always add a resonator in your system. I bet you would be happy with it---ck out my link for some additional info and sound clips:

Probably this resonator:
