Default What's next?

I'm another one of them guys who would like some imput on what to do next. I have a 99 5.3 silverado Z71 XCSB with true dual flowmasters, k&n filter, throttle body spacer, free mods, and exhuast cutouts(for more noise )
I want more low end get up and go since I am geared high. I was looking into a cam, maybe a shift kit, custom tuning, electic fans, magnacharger without radix(got a person with one), and more. I have under $1500 to spend on it all, so I want to do the best bang for my buck. I plan on going to Ed Wright after I get all my major mods done so he can tune it. I can narrow it down to: what would be a good cam for me? How is a SLP 382 Comp Cam Camshaft? Whats the story on yanks and which one would be good for me. BTW, I would like to get better gas mileage, not worse. Let me know, Thanks!

If you want better low end you can start by gettn rid of that dual exhaust. Im not sure how big you have your pipes but they are probly too big for that 5.3.

I went from a single in dual out flowmaster to a magnaflow and there was a definitly increase in low end

I have 2 50 series flowmaster with 2.5 in piping. I thought it was better to have true duals so the engine could breath easier. What if I was to get a supercharger, would it be wise to leave them on?

If you were sc'd then yea I would leave it... but I dont think you need THAT much breathing room NA . I can only go off my own experience and I used to think my flowmasters were the ****.... untill I got magnaflow....

with $1500 I'd go with a 6.0 swap...or a converter and a custom tune.

So your saying flowmasters are still crap or you like your magnaflow?

I don't want to do a 6.0 engine swap. I wanna just upgrade my current setup. What would be a good priced shift kit? Is a Yank 2600 something else anyone would recommend?

I think that my Yank TT3000 is the single best mod I've done thus far, by far. After you "re-learn" how to launch the truck, it really makes a difference. I've heard guys on here say that performance wise its like adding 50hp. It knocked over 4 tenths of a second off of my ET.
