Default Whats the advantage of a LS1 edit?

I'v basically got a 2wd that is bone dry only mod it a cat back, drop, rim and tires. Will a ls1 edit help me at all or should I get a predator programmer? I really need to get something that can fix my odometer. Will the ls1 edit be able to fix my odometer problem??? And for all you guys in texas is there a place somewhere around that can do the edit test and tune?

It all depends on how deep you want to go into the mod world. LS1 Edit will require a laptop and Autotap is reccomended. As for someone here in Texas that will do it, just guys that have it. No shops that I know of carry the Unlimited version (needed to program an unlimited # of trucks) of LS1Edit for the trucks. About only way ro get it is to buy your own. That will cost you $550 plus $150 for each extra vin up to 4 total before you have to buy another package. It is also not reusable. Once on of the vins is attached to the cable, it's there for life. There is no renewal if you sell the truck. It is much more versitle than anything else out there, but more for the guys that really want to get deep into performance. The Predator is a great programmer to. It won't require a laptop either and will a lot of the things LS1Edit will do, but just not the range tha Edit has. The price is also more cost effective if that is a concern. Now what kind of odometer problem do you have? If it is something other than stock and your trying to correct mileage, you will have to go to a dealer or speed shop than can do calibrations. Hope this helps a little.

What exactly is the ls1 edit? Is it like a programer? Something you can hold in your hand or is it a computer program? If it is, is i very userfriendly? I'm just learning about all this stuff so please help!!!

Sleek, it is just software and a cable. That's it man! It is the only way to go for doing serious mods. If you are staying stock, I wouldn't bother with any of them, maybe HPP for shift, top speed limiter, and shift points. Edit is a powerful tool, but very little user guide info. It's kind of a ask questions, and learn yourself thing. This place, and the LS1edit mailing list is the best place to get questions answered. The guys here are very knowledgeable about all of it! Sam
