installed headers last night truck has this real bad stumble the more gas i give it it just stumbles and wants to die with crapy idle it just wont go above 10mph there is no check engin light or anything took it to the dealer and nothing showd up on his computer he says everything checked out fine i hit the gas and it takes ages to rev up to 3000 or 4000 RPM i cleand the injectors and its still the same what else could it be please help its a 99 5.3

Lots of guys have accidentally cracked their spark plugs while doing header swaps and suffered the same symptoms as you. Check your plugs yet?

ps. Which headers did you install?

but a bad plug would show up as missfire <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

i never got an ses light with a bad plug either.......was able to get up to 4000, but the missfire was just retarded.

you tellin me you took youre truck to the dealer with half *** retarded idle and a 5 minute climb to 4000 and they couldnt spot the problem via comp?? i dunno, sounds a little fishy......

 

nop fuel filter is 2 weeks old i also checked the fuel pressure its at 55 psi wich is normal im told, i have the AS&M headers,will change spark plugs and see what happns

I busted a plug and mine did the same thing. I actually had the flashing SES light which means misfires. Anyway, changed the plugs and wires and everything was OK.
