Is it only hitting at WOT? SOunds like the shift kit could be the problem. Your clutches may not be strong enough to grab anymore with the new power and quicker shifts. In other words, your tranny is slipping.

The shift kit, if installed properly, wouldn't cause that. I wouldn't take it out, but I would og voer it and double check everything. More specifically, the boost valve that's in the pump, the little thing you had to stick waaaayyy up there in the front of the valve body.

It sounds like your clutches are slipping. Don't do this anymore until you figure out the problem. If they start slipping they will get hot and glaze over. If this happens your doomed.

doomed, i tell you doomed!!!!
I agree with Flyer, take it easy on it untill you find the problem, if it hasn't already glazed over.

3 against 4 .... I think I would go with the majority. I've heard synthetic isn't the best for these tranny's, but I don't think it would go to that extreme. How long have you run synth in there?

That shouldn't be a problem then. I would drop the pan and double check all your work on the shift kit. Look at the fluid, it should be bright red, not brownish color.

It isn't burnt or anything bright red (ruby). I will check the shift kit out.

Sounds to me like you clutches are slipping. That is what mine did the first time it went out and I rosted my clutches. Does it do it in every gear or in a specific gear, mainly second? If it is in every gear, it may be the boost valve like Flyer suggested. If it is gear specific, you may have lost some clutches already. Checking you line pressure is a good idea too.
