Stainless band clamps. They are more expensive but if you are going to use clamps long term they seal and hold up better than regular clamps.

I prefer the Magnaflow as well, and run that on my personal truck. I installed an MBRP on a 5.3 Silvy not long ago and it sounded pretty good. Very similar to the Magnaflow.

I had Hooker and Bassani cat backs on my LT1 T/A and like them well until I switched to a 3" x-pipe with 16" Sweet Thunders.

I had the Flowmaster catback on my Silverado when I first bought it because i made money off the vehicle trade and wanted to throw a quick aftermarket exhaust at it. Now it has Ebay headers and a 3" Sweet Thunder after the y-pipe, which I have found had a bit raspy at high rpm. gonna add a bullet in there next week.

Now that i have wasted your time, go buy a magnaflow.

Asside from long tubes and ORY, I went with a Dynomax super turbo. All I did was a direct swap for the muffler, left my stock cat back in place. Sounds great from idle to full throttle; Zero drone.

The Magnaflow cat-back is on. It is definitely a high quality kit. It even came with all SS band clamps. I really expected it to be a bit more aggressive sounding. I've only driven it a few miles, so I can't really give it a full review yet.

Magnaflow on my rcsb 5.3 right now. And +1 on the stainless steel clamps. They make like a lot easier. Just make sure to retighten te clamps after a couple heat cycles.

It may get a little louder after you drive it a bit, my 18" long 5x8 case Magnaflow did. I love the way this Magnaflow muffler sounds, much better than the Gibson that I ran for over 10 years. The Gibson was a quality kit, as I mentioned I had it on the truck for a long time, through New Jersey winters, and it held up great, but it was way too quiet and I didn't like the tone. I had the dual kit with the pipes that exited out back. It did get much louder when I removed the tailpipes and dumped it before the axle, then sounded like turd when I gutted the cats. This Magnaflow, dumped over the axle with the same gutted cats and 1 3/4 StainlessWorks LT's that I ran with the Gibson, sounds awesome everywhere IMO...idle, cruise, WOT, etc.

I remember that I really liked the way that tdrumm's Magnaflow cat back sounded on his old 03 rcsb. It could have been a little louder for my taste, but was definitely louder than my old Gibson.

You won't regret the Magnaflow. Great system, sounds and looks great. Gets a little louder after a few hundred miles or so. I've had mine for six months or so and I love it. Truth be told, I like to turn off the radio sometimes and hear my 5.3 sing to me. Install was simple, I did it in my driveway in about 30 min or so.
