Default What would be a good exhaust for my 06 Crew cab Chevy???

Well, i just got the truck and it doesnt even have 50 miles on it yet. I really dont wanna cut the cats just yet so im just looking to put an aggressive muffler on there in the meantime until i put some more miles on her and save the money to do long tubes, o/r y-pipe and corsa catback. In the meantime, I was thinking of getting either a 2 chamber flow with turndowns or a dynomax bullet with a turndown.... Cant decide which would sound better. I want my exhaust to be loud but aggressive sounding also. Any suggestions?

Also, will it be ok to run a dump on a crewcab or will it resonate in the cab like crazy? I want it to be tolerable on the inside but as loud and mean as possible on the outside.

I also considered just running no muffler and a turndown but i dont know if it would sound like crap or not... What yall think??

Thanks for yalls help in advance!

the more cab, the more resonataion. everyone seems to like the hooker aerochamber for no resonance and aggressive sound. i like my corsa sport system but its so damn expensive(or atleast i liked it until the longtubes and ory )

Yea, the hooker i heard has low resonance but it is rather quiet also. The only way to make them sound mean is to cut the cats. Im wondering if the straight pipe and a dump would sound any good? Since im keeping my cats, i dont see it causing any problems but i just dont want it to sound like trash.

I cant wait till i eventually get the corsa! I just gotta get the $$$ first. lol. They are proud of their stuff!

Is your side exit in front of the tire or after? I want to get mine before the tire under the cab on the side! I think it would look sick on my truck once i get the 2/4 and 22's!

Sounds good man. Let me know. Ill be able to pull the cash together if i have to. Thats what i really want! Hell, without the tip, it was already like 300 cheaper than with it... They want an arm and a leg for those damn things! Thats rediculous! How much was your corsa catback without the tip?

Should i just run no muffler in the meantime and dump it? Do you have your dumped over the axel or before? If its before, how bad does it resonate? Id like to dump mine before but i dont want it to drone so bad i get a headache driving it. lol. I normally dont like tips on trucks at all either but i like the corsa tip and i thought it would be a little different to do the side exhaust now that i have the bigger truck to do it with. But hell, if i can get your corsa used off you for cheaper without the tip, ill do that in a heartbeat!

You dont by any chance need some 4" DJM lower control arms or helper bags do you? Maybe we could do a partial trade if you do decide to part with the corsa.

its dumped before the axel and dosent resonate one bit. it dosent even resonate with the longtubes and no cats. its raspy as **** with longtubes and ory though its basically a new system. i dont even think it has 1000 miles on it yet. cutting the muffler will make your truck resonate like all hell! i think my cutout was louder in the cab than outside...i would just save up and buy the corsa if thats what you ultimately want. its cheaper in the long run if you think about it. the cheapest ive ever seen it was 619 on a group purchase but i hear of alot of people getting kickass deals from ebay.

Chago (crewcabondubz) has a slp resonator, or at least that is what i think that is what he has on his truck and it sounds good. you might want to send him a pm and ask him.

How loud do you want it? If you want quieter, go with a small case Hooker AeroChamber, a little louder, go with a 12" long DynoMax Bullet Muffler. I have had both on my new Z71 and like the bullet much better. This is still with stock manifolds, cats and all, just the muffler dumped. A bit louder than the hooker, still a very clean sound. Little more resonance in the cab, but still not bad. The hooker on my truck wasn't much louder than stock, but was much like the corsa, almost no resonance at highway speeds.

L33Z71: Hmmm... Well i can get a brand new 3" dynomax bullet and turn down from element80 if i swap him the 2 stock rims LS and tires i have in the garage. I guess i might as well do it. It wont cost anything out of my pocket and we will both get what we want. I dont see the shop charging anymore than 10-20 bucks to weld it up. Plus its a cheap way to get my truck soundin good until i get the corsa.

Leochevy2001: I am also interested in the SLP resonator but i will stick with the bullet if it will be cheaper since im not going to keep this exhaust forever anyways. I would think that would sound very good though! Ill PM him and ask. Thanks LEO!!

txsilverado: Not bad. That is what i really want but i wont be able to get it for a little while. I want something on there to at least hold me over till i get it. lol. I say you hold on to the corsa for a couple more months and then sell it to me. Ill have my finances squared away by then. All the new truck stuff and christmas spending is KILLING ME!! lol

yeah, I would definately look into getting with chago so you can here his setup... it sounds really good!! the SLP resonator sounds tuff!!

either that, or if you want to come by and hear my cc, I have stock exhaust with a 3" cutout, with the cutout open it sounds damn good... to bad its always close unless Im by myself, its the wifes truck so she dont like the noise and its always close..
