What Water Temps are you running?
#1
I recently installed a 160 degree Thrmostat in my 08 Sierra Denali, but even with both fans set to come on fully all the time (100% in State 0/below 192) and driving at 50mph at night, the water temp never drops below about 195ish. What gives? Anyone else encounter this?

What temp do you have the fans set to come on at? The engine will still heat up, even with a 160 stat, only difference is that the stat opens sooner. I have a 160* t-stat and have my efans set to come on at 180* and off at 173*, my truck usually runs around 175ish

I have great heat in the winter, and it comes up fast too (since the t-stat opens up sooner and coolant is flowing sooner). I've never had a problem running 160 stats in the winter in any of my vehicles

Same here. Im running a 160* in my denali now and havent had any heater problems at all and if anything its warmer. BTW the temps here have been below 20 for the past three days.

I honestly don't know for sure if it's a 160. Ordered it from Summit and it came in a small plastic bag with a serial/stock number on it, but nothing to indicate what temp it was. I was wondering whether it might have been a 180/190 myself. Temperatures around here average like 78-80 degrees this time of year, although today we have a cold front passing through, so its a freezing 72 degrees or so outside today! Thanks for the input - I think I'll order another 160 and see if it makes a difference.
