Default What tranny do I have?

I'm wondering what tranny I have on my truck. 2001 with the 4.8, i'm guessing the 4l60e? Is that right?

i was looking to get a B&M trans pak shift kit. Do you think that would hurt my tranny? How big of difference will that make it over my nelson tune the way it shifts(firm).

Get a transgo. I've heard some horrible things about the B&M

When you install shift kit, be sure to have your shift firmness put back to stock in the tune.

Is that with Jegs and Summit? Right now the tune made it shift quick and hard, will it be alot noticable with the shift kit?

If you do put in one go with a transgo. I have a B&M sitting on the shelf in my closet. Remember cheaper isnt allways better! Dont mean to bust your bubble or any thing like that but if your going to make a performance truck then you have got to beef up the tranny. And then there is still no telling when it will let go. I would suggest if you dont have enought money for a new one any time soon, you should start to put back a few bucks. Just my .02
