Default What of these mods should I go with

Ok 2002 Sierra 4.8 automatic Reg cab. Current mods are CAI and hand held tuner ,flowmaster muffler. I am thinking when i get my tax refund here in 2 weeks of getting the zo6 cam and springs along with a wet nitrous kit and running a 125-150 shot on it or should I go with the cam and a stall convertor. Or what recomendations would you make. I will have about $800 to spend. thanks

I would spend my money on a good conveter, yank or circle-D, and get a live tune, sell that hand held to some dumb kid in your town, then save up for a nitrous kit, just my .03

ok thanks for the reply. Dont most tuners need you to have a hand held tuner in order to do the tune. Also they hand held is good for engine codes and adjusting the speedo in the future if I do a gear change.

For that much spray, your would be better off with a Custom Tune. plus with the cam your gonna need some adjusting to be done.

To get the most out of it, the Spray and Converter would be the best i think. And hope you can Hook from there on.

a tune is always best but make sure its a tuner that sticks to their word about charges for retunes, thats what im dealing with now.

id suggest a circle-d for the price and quality , then probably long tubes.

with that much spray youll def need a tune, and not really a point in geting a tune on a stockish truck. at the end of the day its really do you wanna go fast for cheap, or you wanna have quality parts and be quicker.

cause u could always slap in a z06 cam and a tb stall and still have a lil change but if your gona go through the trouble of puting a stall in might as well get one thats quality

ok so nitrous a custom tune and a convertor is what everyone is kinda leaning towards?

Do convertors make that big of a difference on these trucks?

id buy a 6.0 short block and swap your topend and other parts over...but thats just me lol. ive been through the process of modding the 4.8 and without a doubt it was deff alot quicker than when i started but at the end of the day, without boost ur just never gunna be happy with the result. (or again at least i wasnt) theres 2 LQ4 shortblocks on ebay right now for 450 buy it now. pick one up, put some bearing in it and stick ur parts on it and youll already be up a TON of torque. let the argument begin lol

This thought has crossed my mond as well LOL. Are the gains worth it how much more hp and torque would I pick up from that swap? I still will get a convertor though that seems to be a must with these beasts.
