Doesn't it feel like the tires should be barking on the 1-2 upshift?

TQM is what prevents this from happening. TQM is supposed to help extend longevity of the 4L60E trans in heavy use applications.

TQM can:
1. Retard timing between shifts
2. Delay shift solenoid engagement
3. Remove fuel from 4 of 8 cylinders

This is nothing a performance vehicle needs. As you begin to make more power the effects of TQM become more and more appearant and the effects more and more costly(performance wise.)

TQM uses a culmination of 5 sensors to determine how its going to react to "elevated tq levels." This is a 100% computer managed system and as far as I can see not removable...but can be minimized through custom programming.

The 99's have it but it is not that noicable, 2000 got a larger dose but the 01-02's are by far the most invasive. I've lost as mucha as5 tenths in the 1/4 due to TQM phenomenon.

That might be cheaper and a lot less involved as ls1 edit, superchips, or sending it off to get custom tuning. I'm sure I could find someone to swap with me, or pull one from a salvage yard. Would it be worth the trouble to switch, or better to just get programming? Thanks

I do notice mine on the 1-2 shift, but never on the 2-3. The only time it is really bad is when I punch it just before my 1-2 shift, like around 20 to 30 mph. When I do that, it is like I am hitting a wall. I would love to get it remove somehow though.

don't bother with the 99 computer, my truck falls on it's face so hard between shifts you lift out of the seat, IT SUCKS BAD!!!!!!

there is a way to remove this, but im not sure how safe it is. it is part of ls1 edit and i tested it at the track. set to give -10* timing during shifts, i only zeroed out the entire table and even that felt nicer, felt like it used to when i was on juice and it was just kinda glide into the next gear. next time i go i may try setting the timing to like 5 or 10* during a shift to see what this does, i know it will put timing to that but not sure how much it will help

I zeroed all the tq mgmt tables and still noticed the bog. I then changed the shift firmness mostly to zero and haven't noticed any bog since. I still need to ATAP it though to make sure.

I thought that Ed Wright could reprogram the PCM to remove like 90% of it, if not all of it.

you could get it thru the dealer But here the deal make the purchacer sighn a waver that states that they have purchaes one and GM is no longer libal for the trans <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
