I just changed my old AC Delcos out for a set of TR55s and had the same issue. What you have to do is get a set of pliers and grab a hold of the aluminum shielding around the plug boot. It pops right off with a little bit of effort, but it will save you from tearing the wires to pieces... HTH

Always twist(never tug) from right to left when taking off the boots to prevent the ripping the conductor from the boot.
