I agree with GMCtrk, the less RPM the better the mileage. The more RPM you turn, you will make more vacuum, but that implies more pumping loss. You actually want less vacuum and less RPM...

Actually MORE vacuum with LESS RPM is what you want. Which is why it's so hard to do. You have to find the sweet spot.
