Default What pullers/installers are ya'll using?

Snap-on is way too expensive on the pulley puller and pulley installer for the power steering pulley. What are ya'll using?

Also, which Crank pulley puller and remover do ya'll use?

I want to make sure I've got all the right stuff when I do the motor swap in a few weeks.

Thanks!

I bit the bullet and bought the Snap-On puller, but if you look on e-bay, there is a puller identical to the snap-on puller but for about 40 bucks!

I have the OTC 3 jaw puller for the crank...did some price shopping online. If and when I need any other pullers (ps pump or whatever), I'll probably price shop for OTC too.

Thanks for the info!

What about the fuel connector tool (brand, part#) used to disconnect the fuel lines off the manifold during motor swaps?

When putting the crank pulley back on, can't you get a long crank pulley? If so, does anybody know the part#?

for the crank pulley bolt you need to find an m16X2.0 bolt that is longer than the stock one. stock length is like 100mm.

wow you like doing things the hard way....

you don't need to remove the pulley on the power steering pump, take the entire bracket with the alternator and everything loose and lay that to the side (like against the PCM). For the crank go "rent" the "3 jaw Puller" - it's the big one. it'll grab the crank pulley on the inner ring, once you have the bolt loose, back it out half way and use the puller to get the pulley coming, then you can remove the bolt and use a socket as a spacer the rest of the way.... it's really easy.

To reinstall the pulley heat the center hub REALLY good with a torch, use thick gloves b/c it will get hot, and it will slide right on. Be sure to push it all the way on and move quickly b/c it cools fast.
