Im fixing to either have a new Y pipe made, or completely redo my exhaust from the headers back…
At what point do you outgrow single exhaust? I have a 5.7 LS1 with patriot stage 2 LS6 heads, 231/239 111+2 cam, a ported fast 90mm intake, pacesetters, functional ram air and full bolt on’s all the way around it. Last time on the dyno it put down 430 to the ground. Since then ive added the ported fast 90mm. I know I am leaving some power on the table with my current Y pipe. It was the first gen pacesetter setup and the drivers portion of the Y pipe T’s into the passenger side instead of merging into the exhaust as a Y. here are some insane paint skills for illustration

I can either build the Y pipe that I want to free up some power, or go for a true dual setup with an X and some 18” long dynomax bullets (biggest they make). Am I making enough power to justify a 3” true dual x-pipe setup?

I don't think you can out grow a single exhaust if it is merged into a single pipe correct, using big enough pipe..I have 3 inch off my headers into a merge then into a single 4 inch.. It will def help with the merge alone, vs what you have now.. I hacked up a LPP Y pipe to work for me
