Default at what point did your tranny die, stock or built or still alive?

just curious, trying to get an idea of how strong these 4l80e's really are, i plan on pushing this one till it dies. it would be nice to compare to some 4l60e's

in my last truck i killed the tranny somewhere in the mid 13's, that is at about 5200lbs i think. i drove it hard often. then killed the built flp tranny trying to run what i think would have been a mid 11sec run at the track.

who is going the fastest with a stock tranny? wouldnt it be sweet if this stock 4l80e carried me into the low 11's?

I was running mid 13's on mine when it died around 55k miles. I am now running high 12's on its replacement with only a vette servo and tweeked pcm parameters. I know blacksheep is still using a stock tranny with only a servo too.

Still alive after 76k , but slipping or won't shift 1-2 above 5600rpms. It's been through a lot with the twing and all I used to do and the nitrous. After I get the Whipple on it, I'm gonna go out and fry it before I put the converter and shift kit in.

My stock 4l60e with a Yank 3000 and a Corvette servo survived with 379rwhp and stock Radix boost 61/2lb.That setup went 13.285,when I added 1.85 SLP rockers and added 3lbs more boost roughly 70-80 more rwhp I couldn't build the transmission strong enough to survive more than a handfull of passes at a time. The tranny broke every hardened shaft,shell,5 pinion planet,I just could'nt build the 4L60E strong enough to stand the instant 91/2lb of boost. After talking with several transmission builders I was informed that stock 4L80E would easily live with 500rwhp and a street-strip version could live with about 800rwhp.Now I have a 11lb pulley,a built 4L80E with 3500stall converter and a lead foot. The tranny goes in monday and my cousin has a race lined up with a Z06 to try out the lead foot.I'll keep you posted on the results.

The tranny in my Suburban started to feel a little slow going from 1st - 2nd (don't want to use the word slippage ). This was just after I started seeing a solid 7.5# of boost and got over the 400RWHP mark. I have a friend that owns a local high performance tranny shop so I had him install a TransGo to firm up the shifts. He also did a few other internal mods and increased the line pressure by about 20% during WOT shifts. Feels much better now

i think im having bad luck in this department.
hope this will will hold.
other wise i might have to go the way parish is and build up a 4L80E

Tom.don't you have a 4L80E in the Suburban? Are you running a high stall converter? You did say the Transgo and internal mods took care of the slippage. With 11lbs of boost I'll probably be making near the amount of torque as your Big Block with more revs and topend power.

Mine is still alive, even though my flp is sitting in my garage. 11.70 on my stock transmission with billet servo's and thats it.
