I'm getting ready to do my first oil change on the new truck and i was wondering what oil you guys recommend?

I use Mibil 1 10w-30w and Mobil 1 10w-30w synthetic during the summer months. It probably does not make a difference, but it just gives me a better sence of security.

i go with the mobil 1 synthetic also but mainly because i am lazy, i am lucky if i change it every 5000miles and with FI that is probbly pushing it.

shark not to nitpick but i think Mobil 1 is synthetic and Mobil is regular, not real sure though.

Mobil 1 10w30 and AC Delco pf59 filter.

Mobil 1 5W 30 6qts, and ac delco PF 59 filter. Changed every 1500 miles ( I drive at WOT as much as I can).

Mobil 1 10w30 here since it stays hot around here. Also if you didn't notice on Maxumboom's post, be sure to use 6 quarts and not just 5.

I run Royal Purple 5W30 synthetic w/ an AC Delco filter.

In the Truck I run Royal Purple sythetics:
Royal Purple 10w40 motor oil
Royal Purple 90w140 gear oil
Royal Purple ATF

In my previous cars (Cavalier Z24 / Impala SS) I ran Redline synthetics. The only real reason I changed is a local ditributor got me a good price on th RP back in 99'and I've been using it ever since.
