what is needed to swap v6 to v8

Default what is needed to swap v6 to v8

well there is this truck ive been checking out its a RCSB 99 silverado 4x4 but the problem is that it has a 4.3Liter engine , so i told my dad about it and said allright , but really how hard is it to swap it to maybe a 5.3 or maybe even 6.0it will be used for off roading, so i beleive you need to swap the pcm and whatelse sorry for any bothers can someone please expain to me what completely , eveything i would need. any help apreciated greatly.

simple , what is needed to swap to a v8.

no idea but if you dont have the truck yet i say it would be much cheaper to just get a v8 from the start. even if you did have the truck i think it would be cheaper to sell it and buy a v8.

I agree with Parish, just to much work on swaping the 4.3l out when there is plenty of V-8 trucks out there.

trust me i cant find any v8 trucks and the 5.3s reg cabs around here arelike they never made them around here. anyone know

your not looking very hard then and if you have to go some place with lots of trucks for sale. come to omaha and i can find 1000+used 99+ trucks for you to look at. every dealer has piles of them and 99% are z71 and v8.

i got my one year old 50k z71 for 15,600. in perfect shape and bought it the day i decided to look for a truck.

i had a v6 that i wanted to turn to a v8. after a little studying i sold the truck and got a v8. it was cheaper, and headache free.

Come to my side of the RGV. There are probably more 4.8 V8 than there are V6's and 5.3 combined. It would be more feasable to just buy a high milege 4.8 in good cosmetic condition and do the 6.0 swap.
