looks almost like a chunk of a dipstick tube

its definitely not the oil pickup tube. I would guess it was something GM left inside the engine during assembly. doh!

Hmmm, now I'm half tempted to drop the pan on the 6.0l and see if that one is a winner.

I just looked for bulletins but only show the needle bearings. What about the oil level sensor does that still work? Just a thought.

Forget about the oil level sensor just looked at a new one and they are plastic.

That is part of the dip stick tube.....I seen another post on this not to long ago.

Dude thats the thing that causes "piston slap" on these Ls1 and derivative engines.
