Default What Muffler for DD/Tow Vehicle???

Looking for a little better MPG, some extra "umph" and a tad bit more noise on my 03 5.3L Yukon. This is my daily so I don't want it annoyingly loud, and want very little interior resonance, especially on those long hauls pulling a trailer. I have been looking into just swapping a muffler into the stock location, and even leaving stock piping exiting the pass. side.

I have run a Hooker Aerochamber before, but had it dumped and it made too much drone at highway speeds. Anyone running any of these Flowmasters...

70 Series Big Block II
50 Series Big Block
50 Series SUV

????

...Also, what is the factory exhaust pipe sizing??

Thanks!

I'm going to move this to the GM section but for towing and only a little noise, go with the Flowmaster 70 series with a tailpipe, the factory tailpipe is 3". You could also try a Flo Pro muffler, they have a Big Oval series specifically designed for the GM engine and are for more power and less noise.

Go with the Flo-Pro muffler, longtubes, and a dyno tune. That should help your towing and umph a lot.

Corsa catback or just a muffler...I'm not looking to spend a whole lot on this project, lol.

After looking at the flo-pro, I think I am still stuck in my ways on the Flowmaster 50 Series SUV.....btw, ram5pick, are you sure the stock exhaust piping isn't smaller than 3", i was thinking more like 2.25, or 2.5..???? I am just going to buy a muffler, take it to my buddys shop, have them cut out the stocker and weld in the new one, no adapters, no BS, just a quick swap, lol.

i'm surprised to hear about drone on an aerochamber hell even on my ta with headers and cam and no cats I don't have any drone. I bet if you had run tailpipes instead of dumps you'd put them on your tahoe. dumps are going to cause you to have more drone than tailpipes.
