Default what motor to go with ls2,Ls1,6.0?

Pretty much got the ok from the wife to get another engine for the truck. What is the best way to go? Ls2, Ls1,6.0, or stroker. Got around about $4500 budget. Any ideas? Oh yeah, has to be a daily driver also.

I think that I would have to go with a 408, if that can be done with $4500 that is.

If I had the cash, I'd do a stroker, but by the time you're done upgrading the trans and rear to handle it, you'd probably break your budget. You could probably build a sweet 6.0 with some longtubes and driveline upgrades and still have a little left over for beer.

I'm doing all the work myself. My trans should be good to go already, had it gone through last november. The rear just has 4.10's and thats all. I'll wait till that breaks. I can get a good 6.0 from a junkyard for $1400. Maybe 6.0, nice cam, longtubes. Don't like my powerdyne. Would be nice to sell it and get a procharger.

Get the 6.0 and throw a nice head/cam package on it. Maybe a set of AFR 205's with the matched 224/228 cam. I've got some headers you could get but, they need some work on them.

Is Drayden down past LaPlata or over by St Marys county? I know you said it was down south just wasn't sure what area.

In St. Mary's county. About 45min south of La Plata. Wheres the best place to get the parts. The reason I'm looking into the engines, Is cause mines got a lot of blow by coming out. And I just love more power. Just like to have something bigger than the 5.3.

If you wanted the AFR's I think Tbyrne has them. Everybody has pretty much the same lowest price on them as AFR sets the minimum sale price I think.

Talk to moregrip too about his heads. WCCH did them up and I think he was pretty happy with the service, price, and quality.

Well, I didn't see them on Tom's site but, was pretty sure he carried them. Maybe email or call him.

If he doesn't check with Todd(Reckless) at Fastech. I know they carry AFR's. Tell him XLR8NSS from the truck site sent ya, he might cut you a deal....or not.

I'll send moregrip a link to this thread so he can chime in too.
