Default What mods should I do

I have posted many ideas of mods that I want to do but I just can't make up my mind. First I thought of pulleys but then I talked to my bro that has them on his 96 350 gmc and he claims that they didn't do **** as far as he could tell and he has had them for about 3 years. Then I thought of chunking my current shorty headers for long tubes, but then realized all I would be gaining is just a little more low end and maybe 6-10 more hp for $750!, I don't think so. Then came the idea of a Goodmark cowl hood, they do look sweet although there is a lot of work the goes into painting them and other things although my bro and I can paint it no problem ourselves but its still a lot of work. Right now I currently only have about 200-250 to spend on mods(tight budget), although around Christmas time I should have about $600-700 to spend. I want a mod that is serious, I'm tired of these little bolt on mods that every average joe has around here. I want something in my price range that I will definitely notice a difference and stand my truck out from the rest while still make my truck reliable because I'm in college and short of income and if something were to fall apart on my truck I'd be screwed! I was pondering the idea of a mild cam that will work with my stock springs and rockers, also an LS1 edit although no one around here has the LS1 program or even knows about it. What should I do!!!!

I already have the following performance mods: stock 3.42 rear end, K&N FIPK, Helix Power Tower TBS, custom ram air set-up, Edelbrock headers, true duel Flowmaster exhaust, Magnaflow x-pipe, Hypertech PP3 (93 oct. tuning). Appearance mods are: white faced guages, Rhino bed liner, custom limo tint, billet grille, clear corner linses, clear head lights

How much does a drop run for. I wouldn't want a slammed truck because I usually run into rough roads with huge bumps, maybe a 2" 4" drop would look nice. I've thrown out the idea of flashy rims, first of all because I just bought 600 tires 4 days ago also I want my truck to look slightly stock.

MORE IDEAS, KEEP THEM COMMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS

you pretty much have the basics covered. i noticed you have 3:42 gears. might want to step up to 3:73 or 4:10's with some Eaton Posi like hyperlite said. good hole shots make your truck fun to drive. instead of gears, you can get a TC and some posi. i have a yank3000 and i definitely notice a huge SOTP difference

would there be a big difference if I switched from 3.42 to 3.73 and added posi.
How much for posi, where can I buy them?

If i was you i would get an 02 or 03 ls6 cam! it would gain you good power. it would idle like stock...that would be pretty cheap i think...also u could still use your hypertech with it...i have a 216/220 cam and my hypertech works good with it...

i don't have the experience to describe the difference b/w the 2 gears. but i am sure someone else can better answer that question. if you are going to do a gear swap, i would assume just to go straight to the 4:10's. you can get eaton posi from tom's differentials. i was going to order from them back in the spring but they were out of stock for months and i didn't want to wait. i should of because it is still in the box waiting to be installed. i got mine from gears works i think. they are out of florida. tom's is out of cali. i think the website is
